Have an idea for a product? MBD can help you take your concept to reality offering a wide range of services to help you launch to production.

MBD offers a one-stop-shop for quickly developing your consumer product

Conceptualization / Industrial Design

In the conceptualization phase, your initial product idea is explored and multiple paths are taken to shed light on the overall vision and purpose of a product. Brainstorming, market research, and creativity play a significant role in generating ideas to bolster the concept idea. Once ideas are generated, we can develop concepts that include rough sketches, basic specifications, and a clear understanding of the problem the product aims to solve. Industrial Design comes into play for not only a pleasing aesthetic appearance but also ergonomics and user interface to make a functional user experience.

Visualization

Visualization is a technique used to create realistic representations of products. Using various 3D rendering and digital editing tools, we can create visual content that showcases your product’s appearance, features, and functionality. Leveraging 3D modeled concepts, your product concept can be depicted in photo-realistic environments Various colors, materials, and textures can be experimented with to strengthen the visual appeal and branding of your concept.

Machining, Fabrication and Rapid Prototyping

Once 3D assets have been created for your concept from the previous phases, physical prototypes can be created using onsite DFM / SLA printers, Laser Cutter as well as various other methods of machining and fabrication. The primary goal of rapid prototyping your concepts is to validate and refine ideas, designs, and concepts as well as fit check and check potential interferences quickly before investing significant time and resources in full-scale production. Physical prototypes are also vitally important in communicating your concept so that you can touch, hold, and experience its functionality in real time Physical prototypes of your concept can be disseminated to potential vendors, manufacturers, and colleagues as further validation of the product concept.

Detailed Design

The detailed design phase of your product concept is where things get “real”. At this point, the “architecture” of your concept has been established, and it is at this phase that more rigorous requirements are defined for manufacturing, costing, assembly design, part sourcing, materials, and analysis of materials as well as mechanical properties. Precise specifications, drawings, and documentation are defined to turn your preliminary design into a fully realized product definition.

Prototyping Electronics

Along with physical mechanical prototypes, we can offer prototyped user interaction and function of your product. Using schematic capture and board layout tools and quick-turn prototype PCB and PCBA assembly, we can offer a more accurate user experience.

Firmware Support

Using the Arduino-based platform, your product’s function and user interaction can be prototyped and integrated with the mechanical and electrical prototype. Prototype electronics and firmware support can scale from a “black box” to a “close-to-production” cost-effective, scalable microcontroller solution.
